If your looking for a quality long lasting LED rechargeable lantern, this is it! I’ve been using it about 3 months now and I’m very impressed with this lantern.
This lantern is a two in one product – It provides lighting and a backup USB power bank.
It would be great for camping, emergency lighting, general outside use like maybe when you are grilling. You could hang this up around your grill to see what you are doing. You can charge your phone or other devices.
One claim they make is that the light can be left on for 180 hours or 7.5 days on the lowest setting. That is a long time so I will be putting that to the test.
One thing that I wanted to mention before I continue. Have you ever picked up a product for the first time and you can just tell by the way if feels, the weight, the way the knob turns, the finishing, everything just screams high quality. This lantern is not super light weight it is pretty much all metal on the outside. Quality is what I think when I handle this.
It also has a IPX5 water resistant rating, which basically means you can leave it out in light rain or lightly spray it with a hose. But its not fully waterproof and you can’t submerge it.
This color is called Vintage Copper. But it also comes in Forest Green and Clay Beige. I like the Vintage copper myself. The vintage copper color combined with the orange white light just makes its look antique to me.
There are two ways to charge it – usb-c cable or magnetic usb cable (not included). You can charge it with either the usb-c ports
When in use and the indicator light is green, it means the battery is somewhere between 15-100% charged. If it is red. the battery is at 5-15%. If it is blinking red it has less than 5% left.
When charging it blinks red and turns green when fully charged > 95%
There are two adjustable lighting modes.
- Orange
- Warm White
Each has their own set of LEDs. Either orange or warm white are on. They can’t be on at the same time. The knob is off or on. If it is on the lighting is adjustable from 10 up to 300 lumens. The knob doesn’t have like 3 modes. It is fully adjustable so you can set the exact amount of light that you want. This is called stepless dimming.
Olight claims 180 hours of runtime (or 7.5 days) on lowest setting. I put that to the test.
In my test, it actually lasted 276 hours. That’s 11.5 days!
Olight says on the highest orange brightness, it will last 23 hours.
On the lowest warm white brightness, it should last 35 hours.
On on the brightest warm white setting, it will last up to 1000 minutes.
When you are using the warm white light and the battery is going down, the lumens will also get dimmer and dimmer as the battery drops
The battery in the lantern is a 3.6V 11m200mAh Rechargeable Battery. The battery charges in about 4 hours. They also make a AA battery version of this lantern if that is what you are looking for.
With this lantern, you can charge two devices at once with the USB-A and USB-C ports
Price is $99.95 on Amazon. I know that is not cheap. But if you really want something dependable and much safer than a fuel lantern, then this would be an excellent choice.
